In-person - Art - What is its Purpose?

In-Person Class | Registration opens 8/19/2026 6:00 AM EDT

Art is a moveable feast, and can evoke strong emotional responses. Just like a feast we see things we like and want more of, and other things that we dislike. A historical scene may inform us; a still life may soothe our soul; a painting that exposes the dark side of humanity may frighten or repel us; a religious painting may strike a moral chord. Throughout the course we discuss 20th century artists and how their style and influence prompted our reactions. Revised course
