Grandparenting has changed since SOAR members were kids. It used to be visits for Sunday dinner. Now it varies from regular times watching the children to trying to maintain contact with your grandchildren who live in another state or country. And what is the optimal role for today’s grandparents? To back up your kids in every decision? Or instead, should you live up to that sign that says, “Everything that happens at grandma’s stays at grandma’s.” Dr. London will explore modern grandparenting from a psychological perspective, leaving time for questions and comments.

Jeff London had a 40 year career as a psychiatrist, treating children, adolescents and adults. He grew up in Detroit and, like most of you, watched The Wizard of Oz on a yearly basis. Jeff has given many talks in the Detroit area and loves combining his love of movies and music to help his audience down the Yellow Brick Road of learning.
