Doubt (2008) is an award-winning film drama set in a 1964 Bronx Catholic School focusing on a rigid principal, Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep) who suspects a priest, Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman) of inappropriate behavior with a young student (whose mother is played by Viola Davis.) The film is based on John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer and Tony award-winning play which focuses on the clash between suspicion and faith. The class will feature a showing of the film followed by discussion.
