This class explores the Arctic, home to eight countries and 40–90 languages, and its complex, interconnected ecosystems. Participants will learn how the Arctic Ocean’s circular currents distribute nutrients, supporting wildlife such as polar bears, walrus, whales, muskox, Arctic foxes, reindeer, seals, fish, birds, and invertebrates. The session also examines the relationship between the land, water, ice, flora, fauna, and human populations, as well as the global interest in the region’s resources.
