Class | Registration opens Monday, September 15, 2025 10:00 AM EDT
This class has been postponed until Spring 2026
The Vietnam War, Civil Rights struggles, and the rise of a drug culture deeply affected the U.S. in the mid-to-late 1960s, reshaping both society and music. In this class, we’ll explore how these seismic events influenced the music scene, with songs becoming anthems for change. Through the sounds of iconic artists like Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Temptations, and others, we’ll trace the musical genesis that captured the spirit of the era. Join us to understand how music both reflected and shaped the tumultuous times.
