Elizabeth Orozco-Vasquez has served as CEO of Freedom House Detroit since 2018, becoming the agency’s first CEO. Under her leadership, Freedom House stabilized its finances, expanded fundraising, and increased revenue through strategic development efforts. Born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., Orozco-Vasquez draws from personal experience as an immigrant to lead with empathy and vision. Her deep commitment to serving asylum seekers and refugees reflects both her professional expertise and her lived understanding of the immigrant journey. “As an immigrant, I see in our clients the plight of my own family and the families I grew up with.”
