The Southern Oceans of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean is home to nearly all of the largest icebergs, ice sheets, whales, and birds in the world. We often talk about continents, but the world southern oceans support complex ecosystems unique to earth. Landau has spent decades working to establish long-lasting conservation policies to understand and protect life in the southern hemisphere.

Denise Landau
Denise Landau (B.S. in Field Natural from MSU) has been able to combine her love for adventure, wildlife and wilderness to develop strategic conservation management policies working at a business and governmental level to implement such policies specifically in the southern ocean since 1991. She is the President and COO of Friends of South Georgia Island, a Trustee for the South Georgia Heritage Trust (Sub Antarctic). She was a founding board member of Linking Tourism and Conservation and the American Polar Society, a fellow for the Canadian Royal Geographical Society.
