This class will explore the history and background of beekeeping. It will include stories and antidotes about the ins and outs of beekeeping and how humans can help bees. We hope to include a honey tasting and a travel apiary to observe bee behavior. Questions from participants are welcome.

Wieske, Rich

Rich Wieske began beekeeping over 22 years ago and at one time had over 100 hives, now down to about 30. Wieske is the Director of the SEMBA Beekeeping School, one of the most successful beekeeping schools in the country with more than 70 students each year. Wieske plans to bring a travel apiary to The Hawk for this class.
