S1151 EXILED AUTHORS WHO ENRICHED CHILDREN’S LITERATURE
Class | This class is completed
During the Nazi reign, hundreds of German-speaking authors fled to the United States. Among them were established writers of children’s literature; others acquired the skill here. All of them enriched generations of youngsters in their country of asylum. Often a children's book fascinatingly reflects the author's own life during his/her exile years. The Curious George books are a well-known example of their work.
