Yoga Nidra: Meditative Rest and the Art of Relaxation
Class | Registration opens 11/11/2026 12:00 PM EST
Yoga nidra, or sleep yoga, is an ancient practice that dates back to the Upanishads written in 700 BCE. During this six-week course, you will learn about the history of yoga nidra, the science of sleep and consciousness and how it applies to yoga nidra, and the koshas, or spiritual anatomy. You will also be led though a yoga nidra meditation weekly, with each week building on the previous, to help you create and sustain a meditative yoga nidra practice. While there is no book, you will need to bring a yoga mat, any bolsters or pillows you might need, and a blanket to stay warm as you will be lying on the floor for the yoga nidra meditation.
