Osteoporosis: A Comprehensive Inquiry

Awareness of osteoporosis has increased as we witness the devastating effects of fractures endured by our friends and family. With this awareness, treatment and management options have evolved. This course will strive to explain what osteoporosis is, who gets it, where it occurs, why it occurs and how to manage it effectively.
Judy Thackaberry
Judy Thackaberry received her B.S. in physical education from Springfield College, then received her master’s degree in physical therapy from Notre Dame College in 2001. She was certified as a geriatric specialist in physical therapy in 2006 and renewed in 2016. She received her doctorate in physical therapy in 2014. She has lectured for the New Hampshire APTA in nerve gliding, clinical specialties, clinical tests and measures, and osteoporosis. She is certified in LSVT-BIG training for Parkinson’s disease and is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher. Her osteoporosis weight training classes are given at the Hogan Sports Center. She volunteers with the Sunapee Community Coffeehouse, is an active member of Sunapee-Kearsarge Intercommunity Theatre and sings with the Kearsarge Chorale. She lives in Sunapee with her husband.
