RAIN - The Path of Radical Compassion

Class | Registration opens 6/1/2026 7:00 AM EDT

The Path of Radical Compassion will teach the mindfulness ‘RAIN’ Practice for emotional resilience. In a world of uncertainty and relentless negative press, high stress and self-criticism, this course offers a practical "lifeline." Using the work of world-renowned teachers Tara Brach and Kristin Neff, we will learn how to move from stressful reactive "auto-pilot" to a state of calm presence where we can make wise choices. You will learn

the RAIN method—a simple four-step meditation practice designed to help you let go of fear and anxiety by awakening and "loving yourself into healing.”

Kate Weisman

Kate DeStefano Weisman, MSW, is a trained social worker who discovered the transformative power of insight meditation in her own life. Driven by a desire to share these life-affirming skills, she became a master-level certified mindfulness and meditation instructor. Kate successfully completed the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) as well as an additional one-year Mindfulness Mentor Training (MMT) with internationally acclaimed instructors Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. In partnership with UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center, Kate has taught mindfulness and meditation courses in Hong Kong (where she resided for 30 years) and in London where she is a part-time resident. This marks her third summer mindfulness course with Colby-Sawyer’s Adventures in Learning.
