Teen Visual Arts: Foundations & Portfolio Development

This 10-week studio course, twice a week, is designed for high school students who are passionate about visual art and interested in developing strong technical skills, creative confidence, and a competitive portfolio for arts high schools, colleges, and future creative opportunities.
Grounded in the instructor's process and philosophy, the course provides a comprehensive foundation in the visual arts through studio practice and critical thinking. Students will strengthen their understanding of the Elements and Principles of Art and Design while exploring a variety of traditional and contemporary media, including drawing, painting, printmaking etc.
Students are expected to attend all classes. Absences should be communicated to the administrator and instructor.
- This class meets twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) for 2 hours each class. Students are expected to attend all classes.
Open to teenagers ages 13 years old and up.
Your instructor has provided a list of materials required to participate fully in this class.

- Sketchbook (preferably 9"x12" or 8"x10")
- Graphite pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
Painting Supplies
- Acrylic paints (basic colors)
- Paintbrushes (various sizes)
- Markers (fine tip and broad tip)
- Tape (masking tape and painter's tape)
