The Human Form as the Four Seasons with Samantha Stover

Short Class | FULL

A portrait & costume workshop in the theme of the Four Seasons. We will work with different models during a 4-week mini course with a long pose each session – manifesting the cycles of climate change and the natural environment.

Demonstrations will be in oil. Participants may work in any medium, but painting is recommended. Instruction will be on the structure and significance of:
  • Allegory as it relates to the Figure in Space.
  • Light and shadow to reveal or conceal information.
  • Balancing psychological elements of portraiture and decorative embellishment with each artist’s conceptual goals regarding the theme of the Four Seasons.
  • Relevant color theory and palette optimization.
