Introduction to Screen Printing is a ten week course during which students will learn the basics of screen printing, from preparing their screens to hand-cut, hand-drawn and photographic stencils. Students will gain a thorough understanding of relevant techniques and vocabulary.No previous screen printing experience is required. Some basic-to-moderate computer skills are required for preparing digital artwork for screen printing. Students should be comfortable working with image files and Adobe software. Guidance will be provided throughout the process.
creen printing supplies, silk screens and Ink will be provided, however students are responsible for purchasing their own paper. By the end of this class students can expect to have a working knowledge of screen printing and adequate preparation for a more rigorous level.
- A working knowledge of adobe and digital images is recommended.
- Oversized t-shirt, apron, or smock to protect your clothes. Students will have ink and water on their clothes during the class when power washing and screening.
- please bring 5-10 disposable rags / t-shirts for clean up
- Personal PPE is recommended: eye protection, face masks, disposable gloves
