Zinemaking for Healing with Tendrils Journal
Class | Available
This class explores zinemaking as a bold, personal, and expressive form of narrative creation. Students will use zines as a space for experimentation, embracing imperfection, risk-taking, and authentic self-expression. Techniques will include storycrafting, paper folding, and multipage construction, alongside an introduction to the history, vocabulary, and local culture of zines. Unlike traditional zine workshops, students will engage in guided journaling prompts and art therapy exercises to reflect on personal stories, memories, or themes they feel ready to examine. Weekly tasks will strengthen practical skills, and encourage students to tap into their inner voice. By the end of the course, students will have created a fully realized zine that reflects their healing journeys and creative growth.
