Introduction to Silkscreen Printing with Mike O'Brien

This is an introductory course designed for beginners who have no prior experience with silkscreen printing. Students will learn the entire process, including:
• Stencil creation on a stretched mesh screen with photosensitive emulsion, hand-drawn film transparency, and ultraviolet light.
• Printing acrylic ink onto paper by pulling a rubber squeegee across the screen’s stencil.
• Ink cleanup and stencil removal (screen reclamation).
• Paper trimming and print finishing techniques.
Students will complete the class with an edition of ten 8x10” silkscreen prints in one or more colors.
