Printmaking Open Studio with Trisha Gupta

This course is designed as an open studio format, which means students are expected to work independently on their own projects while also having opportunities to learn and explore new processes. Since this is a mixed-level class, some of you may already be familiar with the printshop, while others may be brand new. We’ll balance supporting those at different experience levels while ensuring everyone understands the fundamentals.
This is a term-by-term membership which offers printmaking students the use of our studio under the supervision of a faculty member on Mondays, for 10 weeks.
Students are provided with ink and tools (they must purchase their own paper) and will be allowed to use the press only while the instructor is present. The cost of this membership covers the faculty time and supply fee. Students will not be able to use the studio during any other time for their personal work. Attendance is not mandatory for all 10 weeks, however studio time is not transferable and expires at the end of the 10-week term.
- WSS will provide water-soluble ink and basic printmaking tools for student use.
Any additional supplies, including paper, must be purchased by the student.
Press and carving tools/rollers/brayers will be provided.
