Intermediate Drawing pushes students' drawing skills to the next level with a focus on abstraction. Exercises will strengthen compositional skills and students will learn how to sit with and react to what a work needs, thereby developing a dialogue between student and drawing. Students will be given prompts and will experiment with and push their materials, with an emphasis on combining acrylic paints and drawing. The goal is to learn how to take elements of drawing from life - space, structure, composition - and use that to create small and large-scale abstract drawings.
