Ages 14-18 (Currently Enrolled in High School, rising 9th graders are welcome) 
July 7th through August 1nd
4 Weeks
Monday - Friday 10am-4pm (1 hour break for lunch)
Registration Fee: $1950

Sign up for a four-week intensive teen workshop this summer with practicing artists guiding students through drawing, painting, printmaking, and cyanotypes. Under the mentorship of WSS faculty members, participants will create artworks culminating in an exhibition where they'll curate and install their pieces in the school's gallery. The program concludes with a celebratory party hosted by WSS!
 
Registration is in 3 parts: 

1.  Payment today.
2.  A questionnaire for your teen to fill out will be sent, expressing their intentions regarding joining the program. 
3.  A visual essay (a written essay will be accepted as well but visual is preferred) is also required as preparation before the program starts. This is to ensure that your teen is fully engaged in the program.

 
This year's teen program faculty are: Louis-Antoine Gilbert, Marie Gauthiez, and Mary Freedman.

  • Scholarships & Payment Plans
     
    Limited needs-based scholarships are available for four students. These are awarded as two full-tuition awards and two partial-tuition awards. Scholarship applications are reviewed by WSS’s Scholarship Committee at the end of May. Applicants will be notified by June 13th, and awardees will be granted one of the four registration spots.     There may be more applicants than we can award, and we encourage you to make use of our payment plan option. Payment plans are available during the registration checkout process*.

    Parents/Guardians/Sponsors can select the following payment plans:  
     
    • 2 Monthly Payments: 2 payments over 2 months, paid on the second Friday of each month.

    If you select a 2-monthly payment plan, your first payment of $975.00 will be due 5/7/2025. If you register after 5/7, you will automatically be charged for the first month. Your second payment would be due on 6/7/2025, which would coincide with the first day of the Summer Teen Program.

    • 4 Weekly Payments: 4 payments over 4 weeks, paid on Mondays. 
    If you select a 4-weekly payment plan, your first payment of $243.75 would be due by the latest date, 5/12, then recurring every following Monday (5/19, 5/26, 6/2). If you register after 5/19, you will automatically be charged for the first and second week.


    *Please note that tuition must be paid in full before the start of the program. Payment plans cannot exceed the start date of the program, and negative balances will retroactively be charged to the payment method on the account if registration is the day before or on July 7th (Start of Teen Summer Program). 
     
    It takes a village! Students attending this program in previous years have greatly benefited from seeking support from family members, friends, and even neighbors. We encourage prospective students and their guardians to also seek support from their personal community.

  • All supplies are included in tuition. 

    We only ask that students bring a portfolio to store and transport their work  home. 

    Students may wish to pack a lunch and make use of our kitchenette at lunch time.
