The field of AI is in the news constantly these days. It is also showing up in our lives in more places, including the summary section of most online searches. Knowing what the various technologies can do for us in our lives, and where there is still a lot of development required before they will be truly useful is more important now than ever. To supplement any information, you may be encountering ‘in the abstract’ we will be using hands-on experience as the basis of this class. The emphasis for these sessions is to develop some real ‘muscle memory’ and have live experiences using your own computing devices to interact with the common online AI assistants. 

This class will also be held online via Zoom (see D-TH5 Thursdays) to accommodate people that want to use their own computer setup at home rather than bring their device to class. We will only be using free applications so there won’t be any cost involved in using the technologies. 

If you intend to do the exercises live during class, then you probably want to have 2 devices so that you can access the Zoom call on one of them and the Assistant Website on the other. This class will be geared more toward people that have experience using Assistants. The in-person class during the first four weeks will be more appropriate for people that have no experience.
