B-T2 Chair Yoga

8 Week Class | Registration opens Saturday, August 1, 2026 12:00 AM

Yoga is so much more than an exercise class! We move our bodies aligned with deep rhythmic breathwork, creating a sense of internal calm and balanced emotions.  And this can be achieved from the comfort of a chair!  The class begins with a few minutes of guided breathwork and meditation, followed by stretching, bending, and gently twisting our bodies with our 4-count breath, releasing those emotional issues that are held in our tissues.  Near the end of class, we do some standing poses using the chair for balance support if needed.  Class is concluded back in the chair with more guided meditation, leaving you with a sense of calm.

This is not a cookie cutter class where all are expected to perform what the teacher instructs.  Everyone does what they are able to do, working within their own body’s limits.  Frequently, modifications are offered to make some of the poses more accessible.

Participants are encouraged to wear flat, rubber-soled shoes or yoga socks and comfortable clothing.  I also suggest bringing a bottle of water.

Bonnie Crisci

At the age of 55 Bonnie Crisci retired from teaching middle school math and entered her first yoga class at age 59. Encouraged to enroll in the yoga teacher training program, she began teaching chair yoga classes after earning her 200-hour teacher certification. She is now a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. She is enthusiastic about yoga’s physical and emotional impact and is grateful to share this ancient practice with others! Presently, she teaches 5 classes weekly, one of which is a beginner’s mat class
