Collective Bargaining | Illinois Nurses Association
Class | Available
This two-day training is designed for INA union staff and member activists who will play a role in the next round of bargaining. On day one, participants will build a foundation in collective bargaining basics, including the bargaining process, key legal and strategic considerations, and how unions identify member priorities and turn them into effective bargaining goals and strategy. On day two, participants will put those lessons into practice through a mock bargaining exercise, where they will prepare proposals, respond to management, and practice the communication, coordination, and strategic thinking needed at the table. The training will also focus on how a bargaining team works together in the caucus room to discuss options, make collective decisions, and respond strategically as a team. Overall, the training is designed to help participants feel more confident, informed, and prepared to support a strong bargaining campaign.
