Private Sector Law – 10/10/26
Provide an overview of NLRA, LMRDA. Examines the regulations & case law surrounding union formation, elections, collective bargaining rights, pickets & strikes, Weingarten rights, discipline, grievance & arbitration processes, & union security/dues clauses.
Public Sector Law – 11/14/26
Examines the essential statutes in Illinois Public Sector Labor Law, including the IPLRA, IELRA, & provisions of the US & Illinois Constitutions that apply to public sector workers.
Employment Relations – 12/19/26
Introduces essential Constitutional rights, statutes, regulations, & case law related to employment discrimination & employment relations on a macro & micro level. Focuses on employment relations, FMLA, FLSA, the Illinois Unemployment Act, OSHA, Disability Rights, Workers Compensation, & ERISA, & COBRA.
Employment Discrimination – 1/30/27
Examines issues of employment discrimination. the Civil Rights Act, the EEOC, ADA, & ADEA, equal pay acts, the IL Human Rights Act. Also outlines procedures for initiating a complaint at the EEOC & the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
Legal Writing Intensive 1 – 2/27/27
An advanced writing workshop for those interested in developing successful written advocacy in complex/advanced grievances, as well as before various legal tribunals, including arbitrators & labor boards.
Legal Writing Intensive 2 – 3/27/27
Builds upon the work from Part I, which is a prerequisite.
