Kim Lordier - Let’s Make Fall’s Colors Sing!
Seasons change, and no matter where you live, fall shares her amber days. Kim will share her secrets on how to make fall foliage come alive. We will dive into simplifying our designs to strengthen a concept, discuss the importance of values to create a strong impact, and talk about the key element of temperature shifts to make your fall color sing!
NOTE FOR ALL IAPS WORKSHOPS: You must bring your own portable easel, and a board to support your paper. The room will be set with chairs which can be moved around to suit your preference. You can stand at an easel and use the table for your supplies, or you can bring a table easel and sit to work. Rubbing Alcohol will be provided for the students' use.
IMPORTANT: Please bring a plastic or cloth sheet to place under your easel, or table, to protect the hotel's carpet.

SMALL SKETCH BOOK
PASTELS- Most important is to have a good selection of dark, middle and light values in each color family. If you are new to pastels and have any questions about adding colors to your kit, please do not hesitate to email me for suggestions.
PAPER- Sanded paper such as UART, Art Spectrum, Canson Touch, etc.. I recommend 8x10, 9x12, or 11x14. If you prefer non-sanded paper, you are welcome to work with a quality surface like Canson or Ingres.
EASEL-a portable easel. All your pastels should be accessible, and not on the ground.
BOARD-some sort of support such as masonite, foamcore, or gatorboard to tape your paper to.
TAPE- artists tape or masking tape to hold paper to support surface or clips
WET WIPES and a dry cloth/paper towels
PHOTOS/Studies- Please bring selection of autumn/fall photos laptop/IPad or painting/studies to work from.
