with Ars Nova Teaching Artist Ellen Winter and Traci Lee
Showstoppers borrows it’s title from the musical number in a show that brings down the house. This performing-arts class is facilitated by two teaching artists and professionals in the field, a dancer and musician. Students will learn the art of storytelling through dance, movement and music. Every class will begin with a physical and vocal warm up followed by a fun, collaborative exploration of musical theater, both traditional and contemporary. Students will explore rhythm, choreography, and all the ways we can use song and dance to express ourselves and tell a story. The final class includes a short performance for parents and caretakers.
This class will meet in person with a cap of 10 students.
Due to COVID concerns, all students and faculty will wear masks.
