Organic Art is a mixed-media based arts and crafts class that makes functional projects from organic, found or recycled materials. Skills such as sewing, woodcraft, textile arts, fabric dyeing, printmaking, paper crafts and book arts are utilized. Examples of projects include quilts made from hand dyed fabric and handmade picture frames made from found and recycled materials. Culinary skills are also introduced through teaching of traditional food preservation techniques such as jam making and pickling.
