In Senior Ballet, students are comfortable with most of the classical ballet terminology, and are able to perform advanced steps such as double pirouette, entrelacé, and piqué turns. The entire barre work is done on pointes, and full center work is executed, from tendus to grand allegro. Students are able to memorize long pieces of choreography, and even guide younger students on stage. Please note that students may be placed in class based on their ability instead of their age. All students must bring ballet and pointe shoes and leotards; gear details will be given when registration is completed. Class is 75 minutes.

  • If a class does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, GHMS will notify parents one week in advance of the beginning of class.
  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all students must wear masks.
  • Class size will be capped at 10 students.
  • Junior and senior ballet have been temporarily combined and meet Mon 3:30-4:45pm.
  • Girls should wear a black leotard, pink footed tights and pink slippers.
  • Boys should wear a white fitted shirt, black shorts or tights and black slippers.

  • Hair must be worn in a traditional ballet bun at the crown of the head.
  • Short hair should be clipped away from the face.
