Itzen, Colleen

With over 20 years of teaching music and movement classes from age 2 through Lower School, Colleen’s specialty is to reinforce teachers' curriculums through singing, movement, playing instruments, musical games and stories, and learning fundamentals of music. Through a multi-sensory, hands-on-approach to learning music, each child's music potential is explored and developed. In addition to a percussion background, Colleen teaches piano to all ages, including adults. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in Piano Performance with a Bachelor of Music from Covenant College, she continued her education with classes at the Juilliard School Extension Division, and has certification in the Orff, Kindermusik, and Musikgarten Methods of teaching and is also a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association.)
