An ensemble that focuses on jazz and world music through the lens of fun, groove-based repertoire. Students will learn music on a variety of instruments including marimba, vibraphone, drums and an assortment of hand percussion.
Eve Zanni is a professional vocalist, musician, composer and the founding Director of Westbeth Music Works and the Westbeth Kids Groove Music Festival. A long time music teacher, Ms. Zanni is certified in Somatic Voicework, Kodaly and Orff techniques and was most recently the creator and leader of the Groove Cats Ensemble and Songbirds Choir at PS 41, in Greenwich Village. She has also taught at PS 278, PS 124, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, PS 6, The Earth School, Herricks High School, St. Luke’s School and the Midori Foundation. Ms. Zannie has a Bachelor’s of Music from Hunter’s College and a Masters of Arts from Lelsey University. She is a member of ASCAP and the Musician’s Union Local 802.
