$345.00

Students will learn the relief printmaking process using a variety of materials including rubber, linoleum, and wood. Basic elements of art and principles of design will be emphasized, while encouraging students to develop an individual voice in print. Returning students may continue to develop skills in relief print and refine their area of focus. Most supplies included.

  • Teens 15+ welcome.
  • Bring pencil and 9 x12" sketchbook to first class, will discuss remainder of supplies. Ink and some printing tools are provided by the FIA, students will need to purchase their own carving tools, linoleum and wood printing blocks, and paper to print. My favorite carving set for beginners is the Powergrip 5-piece or 7-piece carving set. These are Japanese imports and the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. They can be purchased on Amazon and should cost no more than $35-40. If you see an extremely high price, please do not purchase them and contact me for other solutions, jmccoy@flintarts.org.
