Paintings that are as large, or even larger than ourselves have the ability to envelop and affect viewers in ways impossible for smaller, more intimate objects. Painters must employ an entirely different approach when creating oversized work. Students in this course will spend time examining their motives and intentions before moving through the planning and execution of their work. Students will also learn to prepare their own surfaces. All painting media, subject matter, and styles are welcome. Canvas and stretchers will be provided, all other materials are up to the student. Prior painting experience required.
