Learn the fundamentals of the relief printmaking process, from designing to carving to printing. Mounted linoleum blocks will be printed with instructor’s assistance on the FIA Art School’s proofing press, Vandercook No. 3, to create a small edition. No experience necessary, some supplies included.

  • Teens 15+ welcome.
  • Please bring:

    Sketchbook and pencil or pens (at least 9x12” sketchbook)

    Tracing Paper

    Black sharpies - fine and ultrafine OR black and white posca markers

    Linoleum cutting kit with a variety of shaped blades and sizes. Recommended: Powergrip steel japanese tools – 5 or 7 pack. (Found on amazon for around $40-50)

    Optional: Smaller tools to supplement your kit to make finer detail if you are already experienced in carving or like small detailed texture. Recommended: Flexcut micro palm set of 4 tools OR Pfeil 12/1 OR Pfeil 11/.05

    Blick Battleship Gray Linoleum, mounted 9”x12” or close in dimension (Dick Blick) - 3 blocks

    Richeson Bulk Printmaking Paper - 12" x 18", 50 Sheets, 135 lb (Dick Blick) - 2 packs
